With countless television brands and models on the market today, it’s easy to wonder – what really sets them apart? And is it truly possible to find a budget-friendly, high-quality 4K TV that doesn’t compromise on performance? Let’s take a closer look and find out.
When it comes to technology, time is a powerful measure of progress. It reflects how far a company has come, how much it has innovated, and how well it has earned the trust of its customers. Hisense is a great example of this evolution. Founded in 1969, the company’s first product was a shortwave radio sold under the brand name Red Lantern. Nearly a decade later, they expanded their expertise and released their first television in 1978. Since then, Hisense has continued to push the boundaries of technology – even developing a transparent TV in 2013. Today, Hisense stands as a well-established and widely recognized brand known for delivering impressive products at accessible prices. So, what can consumers expect from their (2020) Hisense H6570G 4K UHD Android Smart TV? Let’s find out.

When compared to Hisense’s higher-end TV models, it’s clear that there are some subtle differences. The H6570G doesn’t include certain advanced features or premium touches found in more expensive options, which a few users might notice or even criticize. However, for the vast majority of consumers, the trade-off is more than worth it – getting a large 4K LED TV at such an affordable price point means saving hundreds of dollars without sacrificing an enjoyable viewing experience. Rather than dwell on the few features it lacks, let’s focus on what this television does well, using the 55-inch model as our reference point.
Design and Quality
The Hisense 55-inch H6570G 4K Smart Android TV sports impressively slim bezels (just 0.9 cm or 0.35 inches), giving it a sleek, modern appearance. The minimal frame helps the screen feel larger and more immersive, whether you’re gaming or watching your favorite movies. While many premium TVs boast similarly thin bezels, they typically come with a much steeper price tag. This Hisense model also benefits from a VA (Vertical Alignment) panel, which enhances contrast and allows for deeper, richer blacks. VA panels are well-regarded for delivering superior picture quality, making them a solid choice for anyone looking to get the most out of their 4K viewing experience.

VA panels are a type of LED display known for their excellent contrast and impressive image depth – definitely one of the stronger options when it comes to overall picture quality. The trade-off is that they tend to have slightly slower response times, which might make fast-paced games feel a bit less fluid for some players. That said, most casual gamers won’t really notice the difference.
To help with motion clarity, Hisense included Motion Enhancement Technology at 120, which smooths out movement during action-packed scenes, even though the native refresh rate tops out at 60Hz. Another big plus with VA panels is that they don’t suffer from permanent image retention or long-term burn-in, so ghosting is highly unlikely with this screen.

The TV itself is impressively thin and lightweight, measuring a maximum thickness of just 8.64 cm (3.4 inches) and weighing 27.8 lbs with the stand attached. It’s light enough for one person to move without much effort, though having a second pair of hands is always a good idea for safety. Without the stand, the TV measures 48.4 inches wide by 28 inches tall. The stand adds about 2.4 inches in height and spans nearly the full width of the screen. So, if you’re not planning to wall-mount it, keep in mind that you’ll need a fairly large tabletop to set it on – as shown in the reference image above.

All of the Hisense H65 Series TVs handle 4K content impressively well and do a great job upscaling 1080p sources with noticeable noise reduction. From a short viewing distance, some users might find it hard to tell the difference between 1080p and 4K, which speaks to how clean and sharp the upscaling really is.
Hisense has also built in DTS Virtual:X audio technology, which delivers immersive, multi-dimensional sound straight from the TV itself—no extra speakers required. The result is a fuller, more spacious audio experience that fills the room surprisingly well. One pleasant surprise is the option to wirelessly connect a compatible soundbar or Bluetooth audio device, giving you the freedom to customize your sound setup without any messy cables. And for those moments when you want to tune out the world, the TV also supports wireless headphones, letting you enjoy your shows or movies privately and comfortably.

There are different opinions regarding a TV with or without an Android UI overlay with Google Assistance built-in. Some users would rather the television be straight forward, plug and play with no voice activating features or possible annoyances. Others enjoy these extra features knowing they will NOT need to use up an HDMI port for streaming services like Disney+, Fandango, HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, Prime Video, SHOWTIME, Sling TV, YouTube, YouTube TV and more, which come built into this Hisense TV. Not too long ago, televisions with built-in apps would begin to struggle over time and become rather glitchy and sluggish. So far, this has not been the case with our unit. It animates in and out of transitions, between apps and switching ports fairly well. The Google Assistance does have some hiccups once in a while and may take extra time to find what was requested. But, for the most part, this is normal and expected with Android Smart TV’s accessing the internet regularly.

Final Thoughts
At just $399 and often on sale for around $379 – the 55-inch Hisense UHD Android Smart TV is an incredible value. If you’re upgrading from a TV that’s a few years old and aren’t overly concerned with high-end specs, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how impressive the picture quality is.
One of the biggest strengths of this model is its enhanced contrast. Thanks to its VA panel LED display, it delivers deep blacks and a rich sense of image depth, letting darker scenes blend beautifully into the background. This makes it especially great for movie nights or dimly lit rooms, where it really captures that cozy home theater atmosphere without breaking the bank.
